"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons."
People ache for achievement. People value other people on their achievement. People are so desperate to achieve. The more you achieve, in fact, means you are more intelligent? If they think so, as least they want to be intelligent. But usually, the reason they want to achieve is they want to talk like a successful person, getting someone raise their eyebrows and feel like a winner. They want to be intelligent? Sometimes. If intelligent can make they feel like a winner, maybe. Although, most of the time, they just want to feel like a superior on the peers.
Damn, seems dolphins are really more intelligent than us.
