最近從報章上看到，有人說「集體回憶」這一個詞被濫用得太緊要，只要是上了年紀的東西都被掛上了「集體回憶」這一個桂冠，彷彿行文者所喜愛的必然是每一個人所喜愛。
集體回憶又好，個人回憶又好，總而言之，Oasis都肯定是我們這些膚淺之人的Britpop回憶。Rock ‘n’ Roll Star中的結他Riff是否來自Gun ‘n’ Roses我可不知道，但我永遠記著十年前那一份熱情……不，不單單是十年前的，還有2006年2月25日那一晚，我在大嶼山的亞洲國際博覽館中仍然是熱情十足，伴著台上那一隊早已人面全非的Oasis，這首歌他們玩了四分半鐘的話，我想我起碼有四分鐘是不停地跳動的(不累嗎？很累！但這一首我不能不跳，怕累的話也只能期望下一首是不能令我興奮的……)。
是抄襲又好，膚淺又好，甚麼都好，但我真的太喜歡這一首Rock ‘n’ Roller Star。或許我們可以大量一點：要說「抄」的話，這一首在Oasis的早期作品中還未算「抄」得過份。要說膚淺，起碼Noel的歌詞也在訴說著他要當個搖滾巨星的心態。歪理嗎？我不管來了，我只覺得十多年後，它仍然給予我一份少有的衝勁及熱情，我也不敢說我想當個搖滾巨星，但起碼我對那一份對現況的不滿依然有共鳴，如果搖滾就是一份反叛的衝勁與熱情，隨你怎麼想，但這首Oasis的不老作品的確搖滾。
很簡單，不複雜，招牌的Oasis式作品。編曲沒有巧妙的地方，像六十年時代的The Rolling Stones、The Who把擴音器扭到最大，除了不太快卻很強力的節奏以外，可以聽到的或許只有主音結他。但在Noel Gallangher的流行旋律配合Liam Gallangher的雄厚磁性聲線下，所有東西混合起來，結合而成的音牆就是Oasis的一切：霸氣、信心(臭屁、討厭、乞人憎)，迫使你折服在它之下，膜拜起來。
說起來，想不到在香港的一家日本人向的卡拉OK，由五十年代的爵士樂以至九十年代的Britpop歌曲都有收錄，可以讓我當數分鐘搖滾局星，學著Liam大唱：”Need some time in the sunshiiiiinnneeee”、” People say its just a waste of timmmeeee”，有時候滿足原來是可以如此容易的。
